Important announcement from Prague Airport for frequent travelers
ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPERATIONAL CHANGES APPLIED AT PRAGUE AIRPORT
Dear Business Partner,
We would like to inform you in advance about the operational changes that will be applied at Prague Airport with the commencement of the winter timetable, i.e. from 28th October 2007. Please pass the information on to your travelling employees.
On the given date, two major changes connected with the Prague Airport operation will be applied:
To simplify the navigation at the airport and communication of the terminal names, namely in relation to the foreign group of travellers, Prague Airport (Letiště Praha, s. p.) has decided to make the terminals’ naming more simple and closer to the European custom practice. As of 28. 10. 2007, the terminal names will change as follows:
2. SHIFTING OPERATIONS FROM/TO THE NEW MEMBER STATES OF THE SCHENGEN AREA FROM TERMINAL 1 TO TERMINAL 2
In connection with preparations for the Czech Republic’s and other eight states’ accession to the so called Schengen agreement, it is necessary to move flights from and to these countries from Terminal 1 (earlier Terminal North 1) to Terminal 2 (earlier Terminal North 2). Prague Airport (Letiště Praha, s.p.) has decided to move the operations ahead of the scheduled accession and apply the change on the date of commencement of the winter timetable - on 28th October 2007, in order to prevent any complications connected with changes done during the period of validity of the timetable.
Shift of operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 as of 28th October 2007 applies to flights from/to the following countries:
Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia
The only exception to this new rule will be the domestic flights (flights from within the Czech Republic) that will still be handled in the current way. These flights will be transferred to Terminal 2 on the day the Czech Republic officially joins the Schengen agreement.
